Alessandro Marangoni burst onto the international concert stage in 2007 when he won the prestigious “Amici di Milano” International Prize for the Music.  In the same year he played at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, as pianist soloist during a tribute to the great Italian conductor Victor de Sabata, with Daniel Barenboim. In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of de Sabata’s death, he recorded a CD of the piano works on the La Bottega Discantica label.  Soon after he was signed as an international recording artist with NAXOS.  His growing discography has received international critical acclaim for his interpretation and technique that fueled his meteoric rise on the concert stage in Europe and beyond.

Alessandro has appeared in major musical events in Europe and America, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician with a whirlwind of musical appearances. His most recent performances were in Rome (Accademia di Santa Cecilia), Milan (Teatro alla Scala), Venice (Teatro La Fenice), Florence (Accademia della Crusca), Lucca (Associazione Musicale Lucchese), Ischia (the Walton Foundation), Cittadella in Assisi, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, as well as at the Festival MITO, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Sagra Musicale Umbra, the Italian Cultural Institute in London, the 'Teatro Dal Verme', Milan and in Canada (St. Lawrence Centre, Toronto), as well as concerts in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Great Britain, Canada, France, Chile, Colombia, and Croatia. Notable and critically acclaimed collaborations have included appearances in Spain with the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra, with the Granada Philharmonic and in Bratislava with Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, all conducted by the great Italian conductor Aldo Ceccato. He has also appeared with the European Philharmonic and Mozarteum Kammerorchester.
 

As a noted advocate of Italian music, he is recording the complete piano works by Rossini (Pechès de vieillesse, 16 cds), Clementi’s Gradus ad Parnassum (4 cds) and Castelnuovo-Tedesco Piano Concertos with Malmö Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Andrew Mogrelia), as well as Liszt's Via Crucis (Ars Cantica Choir, conducted by Marco Berrini), all on the Naxos label. 
 

As a chamber musician he has collaborated with some of the most important Italian musical personalities and groups, including Mario Ancillotti, Aldo Ceccato, Valentina Cortese, Filippo Crivelli, Enrico Dindo, Quirino Principe, Milena Vukotic, Carlo Zardo and the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano. He is the pianist of the critically acclaimed, Trio Albatros Ensemble, who have commissioned works from a growing list of composers that have included, to date: B. Bettinelli, L. Chailly, G. Gaslini, F. E. Scogna, I. Fedele, A. Solbiati.
 

His energy and interest in new music and new technologies and pioneering spirit have led him to uncover a lost Castlenouvo-Tedesco concerto, to perform in cyberspace in avatar form for international audiences of computer gamers, to form artistic partnerships with artists from other disciplines (recently actress Valentina Cortese) and to launch a new project Chromoconcerto tm™ with Pierpaolo Venier.
